22 Kids & A Wedding: Millie Radford’s big day hit with issue
There were tears before vows on the dramatic wedding day of reality star Millie Radford and now-husband Harley Passmore.
The couple have featured in the hit Channel 5 reality show 22 Kids & A Wedding – a spin-off of the popular show 22 Kids & Counting which chronicles the busy lives of Noel and Sue Radford and their huge family. In the new companion show, Millie, 23, and her partner Harley were shown getting ready to swap vows and become husband and wife.
But there was plenty of drama in the lead up to the big day – with Harley reduced to tears and a shock family argument threatening to overshadow the happy day. Cameras captured the groom opening up about the relationship he shares with his mother – which has been rocked by family tragedies.
Harley was show explaining: “As a little kid, I always wanted to be around my mum, I’ve always been a mummy’s boy. Before my sister and my dad passed away, she’d always do stuff, she was a very loving mum, I guess.”

CHANNEL 5) Highlighting that there were concerns his mother might not attend the nuptials, Harley continued: “When my sister passed away, it obviously hurt her, it’d hurt any parent. When she died, I didn’t have that support as much. I felt like I lost my mum as well as my sister. Millie doesn’t think she’s gonna come but I’m positive she will come.”
Millie recognised: “I’ve got all my family there so I think it is really important Harley has his mum there.” As one of 22 siblings, Millie’s side of the church was packed full as her family turned out to support her and her new husband. But Harley was left devastated when his mum did not turn up.
Devastated, he said: “I realised my mum wasn’t there when I saw family friends walk in, who she’d actually come with, and she just wasn’t there. Before anyone walked down the aisle, I cried that much, it got to me that my mum wasn’t actually there. It was heart-breaking.”

CHANNEL 5) Later in the episode, he shared: “Even though she didn’t come, it’s my special day and obviously it’s Millie’s special day and I don’t want to be sad. Obviously it is sad but I’ll be alright.”
The emotional turmoil wasn’t the only challenge that Millie and Harley faced as they prepared to being their happily ever after together – as family matriarch Sue spilled that there was some tension between the bride and groom. The reality star said: “There has been quite a bit of bickering about the wedding, I think it’s been quite stressful. Sometimes they do clash a bit, it’s been stressful.”
Millie – who is the third eldest daughter and second of the Radford kids to get married – confessed: “I love Harley, a lot. But he does do my head in most days. Harley wants it the one way and I want it another way. It’s been horrendous, but it’s even more hard work when Harley tries to get involved in it. I snap at him because he’s not getting involved but when he does, it’s awful.”
Admitting things had got intense, Harley said: “The preparation has been very, very stressful. Me and Millie have been arguing, we’ve been bickering.” And there was even more drama when Harely’s best man revealed he wouldn’t be able to make the wedding just 24 hours before the ceremony – and he had the wedding rings. The special episode – which aired on Channel 5 on Sunday night – also showed that weather interfered with the big day as Storm Bert thundered overhead. But ultimately, the couple were able to exchange vows.
