Nic encounters the aftermath of Alex’s memorial as her affair comes to light in the second season of Am I Being Unreasonable – but fans of the hit BBC show may spot a huge change in her appearance.

After two years in the writing room alongside playwright and producer Jack Thorne – though production was also derailed by the birth of Daisy May Cooper’s son, Benji – viewers of the BBC One comedy-thriller will be able to catch up with self-absorbed Nic in the show’s upcoming second season.

And while this will also be an opportunity to dig deeper into cryptic Jen (played by Selin Hizli) and her shady past, eagle-eyed fans could also notice Daisy’s new look as the actress revealed she’d shed off a whopping 10 stones and succumbed to the lip filler trend.

Series two of the program kicks off just minutes after Nic, portrayed by Daisy, lifts the lid on her affair with brother-in-law Alex and her secrets continue to unravel in a series of flashbacks as she’s forced to move into Jen’s home.

“It was a bit mad, because since we filmed the last series and this series, I’ve had my lips done,” Daisy admitted. “I’ve lost about 10 stone.” She adds in a chuckle: “In those flashbacks, we were just kidding ourselves, we don’t even look like the same people.”

But just as they’d managed to enlist the majority of the show’s original cast, from Lenny Rush to Dustin Demri-Burns (who respectively play Daisy’s on-screen son and husband, Ollie and Dan), production of the series was forced to a temporary halt by the early birth of Daisy’s son Benji in June, 2024.

“I was pregnant when we started filming,” she recalls, “and then my son was born seven weeks early, so we had to stop filming right in the middle. I have a brilliant son, but that was really stressful.”

And her partner in crime Selin, 36, couldn’t agree more: “I don’t know how she did it, to be honest with you. There was a huge amount to do.”

Production for the show was also halted temporarily after the early birth of Daisy’s third child, Benji, whom she shares with partner Anthony Huggins ( Image:

But trouble will be coming from someone close to home for Nic as she grapples with the possibility of her actions negatively influencing Ollie. So when a newcomer, played by Daisy’s brother Charlie Cooper, offers her a tarot card reading and says she is being followed by a supernatural fiend, Nic fears her son could become a serial killer.

Fans of the gripping comedy-drama will recall that in the inaugural season, Ollie hurled the family cat Mr Meowgi into the tumble dryer after discovering his mum’s secret romance with his uncle Alex.

“That was something we started in series one,” Selin remarks, “and we’re both mothers, so we relate to that a lot. It was something that we wanted to explore a lot more.”

She adds: “And having Lenny was fabulous because we know he can handle whatever we throw at him.” When asked about the obstacles ahead for Nic, however, Daisy issued viewers with a warning: “It gets worse. It starts spiralling madly.”
