Drake is set to play three huge concerts in London this summer – marking his first UK gigs in six years.

The One Dance rapper will reportedly headline Wireless Festival in Finsbury Park, which runs the weekend of Friday July 11 to Sunday July 13 and celebrates it’s 20th anniversary in 2025. It is thought the 38-year-old will perform on the main stage for all three nights in a deal said to be worth millions.

He last performed in the UK back in 2019, playing seven nights at London’s O2 Arena as part of his Assassination Vacation tour. Though he popped up at Wireless during a surprise appearance during Future’s set in 2021, this is the first time Drake will have played one of his own gigs since.

Other rumoured headliners for this year included Lil Wayne, Burna Boy and Vybz Kartel, but it seems Drake is the big name organisers were after. Last year saw Nicki Minaj, Doja Cat, Future, J Hus and 21 Savage take to the stage as headline acts.

“Exact set lists are still to be worked out but one idea that has been passed about is that Drake will perform some of his albums in full for the first time.”

Tickets for this year’s Wireless Festival go on sale next week, priced at £113 per day. Those who have signed up to the Wireless presale will have a chance to get tickets from Tuesday February 18 from 12pm. Fans with the Three mobile network can try and get one slightly earlier when tickets go on sale at 12pm on Monday February 17.

The announcement comes days after rapper Kendrick Lamar made a savage dig at Drake during the Super Bowl halftime show. The 37-year-old made history as the most-watched halftime act of all time last week. During the show, Kendrick – who has been feuding with Drake since 2013 – took shots at his rival multiple times, even referencing their rivalry in his diss track and bringing his ex-girlfriend Serena Williams onto the stage.

Now, Drake has responded with a dig at the singer, fuelling the ongoing tension between the two artists. Releasing a new track, Gimme a Hug, from his latest album, Drake seemingly calls Kendrick a “small fish” like “Nemo” in the song.

In his opening verse, he raps: “Drake elimination, fake intimidation / Take a minute, take a deep breath, have a little bit of patience / ‘Drizzy, you amazing, you the inspiration / You set the bar for the next generation / You Neo in The Matrix, these ****** just Nemo in the ocean / Small fish, making kids feel emotion / Using you for promotion,’ truer words have never been spoken.”

Drake has also taken issue with Kendrick’s songs, and in January this year decided to head to a lawyer’s office rather than the studio and began legal action regarding Kendrick’s diss tracks.

He launched a federal defamation lawsuit over Kendrick’s Grammy Award winning hit Not Like Us. Drake is taking Kendrick’s music label Universal Music Group to court, alleging they are part of spreading a “false and malicious narrative” that he is a paedophile.

However, the lawsuit clarifies that it is not targeting Kendrick Lamar himself. “This lawsuit is not about the artist who created Not Like Us,” the suit declares. “It is, instead, entirely about UMG, the music company that decided to publish, promote, exploit, and monetize” a song containing untrue allegations. Drake has also expressed concerns over his safety, citing the numerous shootings near or at his Toronto mansion since the release of the controversial song.
