Mickey Rourke’s ‘slashed’ Celebrity Big Brother Pay Check Uncovered After Axing

Mickey Rourke agreed with Celebrity Big Brother bosses that it was time for him to be axed from the show, but his early departure has left him with just a fraction of the pay he was expecting21:06, 14 Apr 2025Updated 21:08, 14 Apr 2025

Mickey Rourke is said to be in talks with CBB bosses over his final pay considering he only entered the house ‘for the money'(Image: ITV/REX)Mickey Rourke is facing a much smaller payout than expected after being axed from Celebrity Big Brother. On Saturday night it was revealed that the actor had been booted out of the house following a very tense first week – and it’s said that he shouldn’t be expecting to get anywhere near his full wage.

As he sat in the Diary Room after being asked to leave the house, Mickey, 72, didn’t fight to stay and suggested the want for him to be gone went both ways. “I went over the line, you know, I did wrong,” he said. “I guess, like they say, I’m a work in progress. I just wanna pack my bags and leave, you know. I wanted to leave yesterday actually but I wasn’t chosen.”

Considering the fact that both Mickey and ITV bosses agreed that him leaving was for the best, it seems that he might be looking at a much smaller salary – after initially signing up as the highest-paid star by far with a massive £500,000 wage.

Mickey was the highest paid star on the show with a £500,000 fee – but might end up with just £50,000 thanks to his pro rata contract(Image: REX/Shutterstock for Big Brother)According to The Sun, this could now dunk down to just a fraction of the amount he went out for – with Mickey potentially only receiving £50,000 due to his contract being pro-rata despite entering the house for the money.

“Mickey didn’t do Celebrity Big Brother for the experience and was counting on that money,” a source told the outlet.

The source added: “He’s lost a huge amount by leaving the show early. It was worked out on a pro rata basis. Conversations are ongoing so the fee may change but a contract is a contract.”

Mickey’s lower pay is sure to hurt. Prior to entering the Celebrity Big Brother house, he explained that he signed up for the show seeing as his “career is in the toilet” and he had to choose between the reality show or “a really bad independent movie.”

Mickey left the house following a string of scandals in just a few days. JoJo Siwa was one of the first victims of Mickey’s outrageous comments and temper, with the Hollywood actor calling her a homophobic slur just hours into the show.

While he stuck to just words in his treatment of JoJo, things changed during an interaction with Chris Hughes, which saw him seemingly threaten to attack the Love Island alum after calling him a “c**t.”

He also left The Only Way is Essex star Ella-Rae Wise in tears after making a vile sexual remark to her, shocking some housemates who thought they were warming up to him.

Even before being kicked out, however, Mickey made it clear that he wasn’t happy to be staying. After Michael Fabricant was voted out, he asked Ella-Rae and Angelica Bell how nominations worked.

After they explained that it would be a few days before someone was voted out again, Mickey pleaded with them to nominate him and started counting down the days until the next eviction came around.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, one person slammed: “So fake sitting there counting the days out loud.” Another judged: “Man just wants his £500K cheque.”
